I really want to learn Spanish...and while I am at it, I would love for my kids to learn it too. I think that being bilingual is a huge asset in this day and age. Especially if you live in a location that is heavily multicultural. Being able to speak English & Spanish, when you live in California...for instance, is a great skill to have.
So, what if I tell you that I found a company that can help your family become (slowly) bilingual, just by watching some adorable videos. And this language learning can happen as early as birth to five years old. Would you be interested in learning more?
I was!! That's what I was so excited we got the chance to try out one of the Little Pim "FUN WITH LANGUAGES" DVDs. I picked Spanish, because I personally want to be fluent someday and would love for my kids to be able to speak with me.
Here's a little sample of what their videos are like:
Super cute and very educational, right? I had a person tell me once, that becoming fluent in Spanish could be as easy as watching a Spanish t.v. channel. Because you learn through experience. So watching their shows and figuring out the language comes more natural when you can see the interaction. I think, in the same way, these videos offer my kids the stimulation (visually) to understand the words that are being translated into another language. So they can soak it up and walk away with a brain full of new words that, despite the new language, make sense to them. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?
We received Disc 2 "WAKING UP SMILING"...which was great! It teaches kids the Spanish translations for things like "waking up", "brushing up", "dressing up" and finding out what all the smiling is about. All about waking up and going to sleep.
I am very tempted to buy the entire series. To me, it doesn't matter that they are recommended for ages 0-5, because I know that by watching these videos, myself, I will be learning the basics to speaking the Spanish language too...and my kids will be learning right along side of me. They will walk away with the basic building blocks of the Spanish language...just by watching the videos.
Please, check out Little Pim. They offer more than just Spanish language learning DVDs. Almost any language you can think of, they have a teaching DVD to help you in your teaching & translation for your kids. What a great company!
