Curious Why We Owe Our Landlord a New APPLE TREE?

One word can describe our true reason:

JADE (the puppy)

Tonight, while the kids and I were outside, I had her on her tether, so she could play. Suddenly, our seven year old makes a LOUD AND CLEAR announcement, "MOM...Jade pulled out the tree!"

What? What the heck was she talking about?

I turn around to find the dog tangled in the tree & stakes. Her tether wrapped all around it and the poor broken off tree was snapped like a twig. OH GREAT! My oldest son was about in tears, "Oh no...the poor apple tree! It's DEAD! Can we save it?"

"Umm...sorry honey", I said, "but she snapped it off and the roots are still in the ground! It's not saveable!"

Not only is our dog digging holes in the grass...but now she's breaking the trees off at the base and dragging them around the yard like it's nothing.

Oh the joys of having such a large and in charge dog!

Madonna’s Material Girl Collection – Fall 2011

International Icon and world renowned Material Girl, Madonna and her daughter Lola are back with the Fall 2011 marketing campaign for their junior brand "Material Girl." Joining in on the fun for a second season is rock royalty, actress and television personality Kelly Osbourne.

"We have both enjoyed working with Kelly and are thrilled to have her on board for the launch of the Fall 2011 collection," commented Madonna and her daughter Lola.

Representing the quintessential New York City scene, Osbourne is seen being photographed in Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, Soho, the West Village, Little Italy, Chinatown and includes backgrounds such as the world famous Empire State building and Osbourne on top of a double-decker tourist bus riding down Fifth Avenue.

The campaign will debut in September issues of fashion and lifestyle magazines such as PEOPLE StyleWatch, Nylon, Seventeen, Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan as well as online, outdoor and in Macy's.

"I love being part of a brand for girls and having the opportunity to work with Lola who has an amazing fashion instinct. Added to that is the fact that Madonna has been a big influence on my style over the years," stated Kelly Osbourne.

NEWS FLASH: GoldToe Brand Makes Socks For The WHOLE FAMILY!!

When I hear of GOLDTOE Socks, I immediately think of Men's socks. In fact, until this package arrived today...I thought that was the only type of socks they made.

Boy did they prove me wrong!

GoldToe brand socks aren't just for men. They have socks for the entire family and I was super excited (and so were my girls) to put their socks to a test drive.

Funny thing...we received 3 different sizes of the same type of socks from their "girl's" line and funny enough, I fit into the largest ones. So it was PERFECT! All three of the ladies in our family had a 3 pack of matching, adorable and made to last socks. I loved them & the girls loved the fact that we all had matching socks!

I also got to try a few pairs from their "women's" line and I loved them too!

They were soft, comfortable, stretchy and QUALITY socks that I, despite my need to be bare foot, look forward to wearing next winter!

Four "CUTE" Reasons I Do What I Do! Sometimes (But Not That Often) I Have To Remind Myself Too...

Why do I choose to stay at home with my kids?

First...I want you to stop and take a look at their little faces:

Now...how could I live with myself if I missed a second of their lives?

I mean, if we financially needed for me to work (which we are super blessed to not be in that position), then I wouldn't have a choice & would have to work. However, because I have a choice...I am so glad & thankful that I choose to be here with them. Being a mommy is the best job I could have ever dreamed of having!

Even if that means that I have to witness "far to often" fights & spats, attitudes & disobedience, or even boo boos & injuries.

Because all the smiles, the giggles, the funny things they say, the hugs, the "I love you mommy", the moments of success I get to witness first hand...MAKES EVERY MOMENT WORTHWHILE!

I love my job!

I wouldn't change it if I could!

Where Should We Go On Our" TEN YEAR" Anniversary Cruise?

I am talking about my 10 year wedding anniversary with my sweet husband. I have never been on a cruise before, so I suggested to my husband that this would be a great way for us to celebrate our milestone anniversary.

Now, we just have to decide where to go on our cruise and what cruise line we should take. If we can arrange it, I would love for it to be just him & me...NO KIDS! However, since we don't live near family and hiring a nanny would be a rather expensive addition to an already expensive Anniversary gift to each other, they might end up coming along too.

So, CRUISE EXTRAORDINARIES...I need your help, advice, opinions, etc. What's the best cruise line? Which one will offer us the most options of activities for our money? Which one has the best accommodations? Which one would you do a repeat cruise with? HELP ME!

I am just brainstorming right now...because our anniversary isn't until February! But I still love to plan, think about it, get excited and dream about our adventure!

Cute Conversations With A Three Year Old...Oh The Things They Come Up With!

So, tonight...I gave the kids a bath (like normal) and had them go get their pajamas, before they got the in bathtub. The girls came in with normal PJ's and my little guy came in with his pajama bottoms and a t-shirt that reads "Elf In Training" that I bought for him at Christmas time.

As I was getting him dressed tonight...I asked him, "What does your shirt say?" Just because I was curious what exactly his response would be...since he selected a Christmas shirt to wear to bed.

He smiled and said, "I Love MOMMY Very Much!"

I giggled and said, "Ummm...no, that's not what is says! What does it say?"

He smiles again and says, "There's popsicles in the freezer and we can have one?"

Oooh! He's a smart one...and how his little brain works already! He's so gosh darn cute, I had to laugh and then I proceeded to explain to him what the shirt "REALLY" said! He cracks me up!

The Art Of Writing A Hand Written Letter...A Lost Art? Not In This House!!

It all started in fourth grade when I was sitting in the back of my parents car, waving goodbye to my best friend as we moved from Spokane, WA. to Lancaster, CA. The move was devastating to me...because I was leaving my friend behind...never to be seen again. But that didn't mean we couldn't stay in touch.

In fact, we have continued being pen pals since fourth grade.

Writing letters, sending pictures, celebrating birthdays with presents, etc. If you think about it...it's been 24 years (TWENTY FOUR YEARS) of writing back and forth. We've lost touch a couple times, been able to reconnect, shared boy friend woes, our excitements of getting married, starting our families, etc.

She just gave birth to her second son, and though we have never seen each other since four grade...I feel like I know her and her family! I love that! We laugh...because we will probably be two very OLD women by the time we get to see each other, in person, again! But I can't wait to give her a hug...I've had one stored up for her all these years!

So it's important to me that my kids keep close relationships with their friends...even if there are miles in between them. Even if those miles are only a few (over the summer).

My son Clayton made a "BEST FRIEND" at the end of his 3rd grade year (this last year). Even though the summer just started last week for the boys...he already sent his friend a "MESSAGE" (as he calls it) in the mail and today he received his first one back from his buddy!

I can't tell you how this delights me! Not only because this will be awesome for him to continue, even when school is in session, but it also helps him with his spelling, writing, drawing and creativity. It also helps him build relationships, even if he's not seeing his friend "IN REAL LIFE". I am so proud of him! I hope this isn't a fleeting thing. I'll continue buying postage, envelopes and unlimited amounts of paper...as long as he continues writing to his friends. :)

It's Time For Summer Hair Cuts...And A Little Feather Flair Too! SEE OUR NEW LOOKS!

I hit my breaking point with my current hair style last week. After seeing my ponytail thin down to almost nothing...I had to do something. My hair needed a healthy, cute SUMMER cut...and that's what I did! I went to the mall & got my hair cut into a "Heidi Klum" inspired style.

What do you think? I PERSONALLY LOVE IT!

It seems that whenever MOMMY gets her hair cut, the girls are also inspired to cut their hair...so they begged and pleaded. My oldest daughter wanted her hair cut just like mommies...and the youngest daughter wanted her hair cut just like her big sisters. SO CUTE! So I obliged and they have adorable new SUMMER hairstyles too...that are similar in length to mommies. (yes...in case you're wondering...I cut them myself).

We also ordered hair feathers extensions from HipChicks3.com. My oldest daughter got purple, my youngest daughter got pink and mommy got teal. They were super easy to put in and despite the fact that they were a little pricey (you pay per feather & bead), they will last up to 6 weeks and can be styled just like our normal hair. So far...we love them!

So there you go...the One Bored Mommy ladies got a new look for summer!

I Took My Three Older Kids To The Movies Last Night...Can You Guess What We Saw?

Our friend's daughter is leaving for the summer to be with her daddy, so her mom invited a bunch of her little friends together to say goodbye and see a cute movie too.

We saw...Mr. Popper's Penguins!

Now, I can tell you truthfully...I am not a huge Jim Carey fan. In fact, I will avoid watching any of his movies at all cost. I do not appreciate his humor...but I was pleasantly surprised by this new movie. Not only was the story a little bit heart warming, but you can't help but walk away from the movie wanting a PET PENGUIN. They are so adorable & super sweet. I loved how each penguin had it's own personality! My kids loved that too!

My seven year old loved the part when the baby penguins hatched...SO SWEET!

My nine year old loved it when Jim Carey's character hooked the Zoo Keeper in the pet lasso and was asking him, "Why are you hitting yourself?" He was cracking up!

My five year old loved the choreographed dance with Jim Carey and the penguins.

This is definitely a cute movie! If you can't make it to the theater before it's done...definitely rent this for your family! You will giggle, you will say, " aw" and you will leave the theater wanting a penguin of your own.

Would You MURDER Your Child?

I truthfully have not been closely following the Casey Anthony Trial, but I am disturbed and absolutely disgusted at just the thought of a mother killing her own child. I cannot fathom how a parent can get that far away from being the loving, caring and providing parent that GOD has intended for us to be when He gifts us with those innocent lives.

Have you ever thought about it? I mean...you would really have to be "off your rocker" or on some mind altering medication to do damage to your family like that, right? It just really makes me SICK!
