The exclusive Asia's First Madonna Exhibition 'Simply Madonna at City of Dreams 2011' was launched at City of Dreams this evening in a ceremony filled with the glamour and flourish befitting history's most glamorous Queen of Pop.
The must-see exhibition, which runs from Thursday June 23, 2011 to Sunday July 24, 2011 throughout the City of Dreams premises, will feature over 50 selected exhibits from the superstar's avant-garde and iconic show accessories and costumes, including her sexy bustiers designed by fashion's enfant terrible Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Also on display are many of the outfits Madonna wore in the multiple award-winning Mr. Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, Evita, as well as personal memorabilia such as song sheets and documents.
"Madonna's versatility as an artist and City of Dreams' vision of being the most diversified entertainment hub in Asia makes for a perfect match. We are thrilled to be hosting the first Asia exhibition of her memorabilia in the region and I am sure guests will find this yet another rewarding experience while visiting our integrated resort," said Mr. Nicholas Naples, Co-Chief Operating Officer, Operations of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited.
Over 200 notable guests and media attended the glitzy launch party that was officiated by Hong Kong's own pop icon, Ms. Sandy LAM Yik-lin, who like Madonna, is well-known for her own unique style and taste.
"Madonna is definitely a very multi-talented artist and knows how to fully utilize her assets as a performer and entertainer. I've always admired how enigmatic, innovative, and smart she is. It's very exciting for me to be here tonight to see first-hand all those iconic clothes and memorabilia of such a remarkably unique artist," said Ms. Lam.
The exhibition is part of City of Dreams' high-flying 2nd anniversary celebrations that have included the star-studded 11th Chinese Film Media Awards held last week and the upcoming explosive all-Asia professional mixed martial arts (MMA) Legend Fighting Championship 5 on Saturday July 16, 2011, as well as the second of the City of Dreams Pool Party Summer Series at Hard Rock Hotel's Pool and Club CUBIC, City of Dreams on Saturday July 23, 2011.
In honor of the pop diva's 'appearance' at City of Dreams, a series of special Madonna promotions have been launched.
