Are you curious? Wondering what in the world I would consider a SECRET Shopping Weapon?
First off, keep in mind that I have four kids...and my husband is the only income maker (no...I am not paid to write this amazing blog), so pinching pennies with "back to school" shopping is a must.
Secondly, I am not to proud to put my kids in gently used, second hand clothing.
With that being said, we try to buy our kids (each one going to school) a few "BRAND NEW" outfits...but for the most part, their wardrobe is outfitted by:
Yes...GOODWILL! I may have to make several trips, in order to find the right sizes or seasons...but to me, the amount I save is worth it. Plus, I can get my children stacks of clothes for a fraction of the price I would pay even at discount shopping stores...just because the clothes are gently used. With as fast as my kids grow, as sloppy & careless kids can be (staining, ripping, etc.), I don't have to worry...because I haven't invested a fortune in them, I can toss them out if they get a point where they cannot be worn to school, etc.
I am certain, as well, that most people would never guess I shop at Goodwill. My kids are always clean, very trendy and typically wearing the same name brands that other parents are spending thousands to wardrobe, while I am spending dollars. This makes me a happy mommy, my husband happy with our spending and my kids happy with their new wardrobes. Yes...even my oldest son gets excited about shopping for new clothes at GOODWILL.
So there you go...seek out your local GOODWILL or Salvation Army (MY SECRET WEAPON) and feel good about outfitting your kids for "back to school" for a lot less than you ever imagined!
