It's finally here! If you have been following my blog for long, you know that I have been anxiously awaiting this 2011 Blogher Conference...from the moment I found out last year that it was going to be in San Diego. In fact, I think I let out the biggest & loudest Whoop! in the room, when they announced the location for this year's conference! It has been almost 3 years since we moved from California to Connecticut and I haven't been home since. I knew this was going to be one way that would ensure me, that I would be putting my feet on the WEST COAST soil, in my favorite town in California (San Diego).
So here it is...I am leaving on Thursday and I have so much to get done between now and when I leave. Yes, I am quite a planner (I have to be in a family such as ours), so I am trying to get all my "DUCKS IN ROW", so to speak, to make sure I don't forget something important for my trip!
Here's my checklist...to ensure I forget nothing:
I've printed my travel itinerary, my hotel reservation information, my tickets to the parties I've RSVP'd to attend and I have my "OFFICIAL" Blogher name badge/pass all ready to go!
I will be using my laptop up until a few minutes before we leave for the airport, but you better believe I'll have it packed. I was excited to learn that the OMNI HOTEL, where I am staying in San Diego, offers free INTERNET access (SCORE)...which I thought was going to be an added expense for my trip. YAY! Having a laptop this year is a treat, since last year all I had with me was my phone! Now I can officially BLOG from BLOGHER! YAY!
I have a huge box of business cards, because you better believe there will be some "NAME DROPPING" while I am there. I mean, who wouldn't want One Bored Mommy promoting for them, right? Okay, probably getting a little ahead of myself, but better to bring to many than not enough!
And yes...I have started to pack! Can you tell I have some kids that wish they were coming along as well? I have an assortment of clothing, shoes and accessories to wear while I am there. Because I am going "KID FREE", I have the opportunity to put make up on, do my hair everyday and even change clothes a couple times a day if I want to. DOUBLE YAY!
Oh yeah, I even made a shirt that I am tempted to wear on my day of traveling (THURSDAY), but I am second guessing myself now. Wouldn't want to attract some "STRANGE ONES" as I promote for my blogspot, so this shirt may be something I wear during the conference instead. LOL!
We'll see how gutsy I am feeling on Thursday morning.
If you can't tell...I am anxious for Thursday to get here...but until then, we have daily football/cheer practice starting today, lots of housework to get done (so my house is clean when I leave...though it may not be that way when I return), laundry to complete (so everyone has clean undies while I'm gone) and all that good stuff to get done before I leave.
