This week has been exceptionally long for me and the kids. Why? The temperatures have reached almost recording breaking highs in Connecticut and we are stuck in a house with still no working AC. Just a couple floor fans to keep us cooled off.
However, despite the heat, this week has also been an exceptional one as far as "DATE NIGHTS" with my husband go!
On Monday night, we took two of his employees and their spouses out for a very nice (upscale) dinner in New Haven, CT (home to Yale University). We were wined, dined and enjoyed the company and the fabulous food. Exquisite Night!
On Wednesday night, we had an impromptu "Date Night" to NYC to visit my husband's cousin & his wife (who were visiting from Ohio for their 16th Anniversary). We walked the streets of the City, caught up with our family and I had the biggest "TURKEY" sandwich I've ever eaten (while everyone else had authentic Pastrami) in a quick whirlwind evening trip. AWESOME!
Finally, tonight (Friday night) we are finishing up the week (tonight) with a "CLAM BAKE", that my husband & I were invited to through work connections. Have you ever been to a clam bake before? We went to this same event last year and they not only had clams, but WHOLE lobsters and a huge spread of other fabulous side dishes, salads and desserts. Needless to say, I am looking forward to dinner tonight too because MOMMY will be eating good! YUMMY!
Thank goodness for the fabulous babysitters who have not only made this possible (by watching the four little people)...but also toughed it out in our "HOT HOUSE" while we are out on our dates. It's been a HOT but AMAZING week!
