- Did you have your pet spade or neutered?
- Did you do it at a veterinary office or at an animal shelter?
- Did your vet bill (for pre-op & surgery combined) come anywhere close to $500?
- Did your pet come home in a cone? (just asking that one for the fun of it)
To be spade...if my husband lets me take her in and doesn't shop around for a "better deal" first.
Guys...things in Connecticut are so much more expensive than even California! Even adopting pets from the animal shelters, is three times as much here than there. Are you kidding me? We're suppose to be "RESCUING" a pet and instead it feels like we are buying a pure bred animal from a pet store or breeder. Only this dog has a history we don't know about and most are not PURE BRED dogs or cats. It frustrates me, because I think it may hinder some people from adopting from these shelters here (in Connecticut)...at least it did with us!
Anyway, our pre-op pet visit to the vet (which was required before she could be spade) was almost $300 and I am horrified to find out what the vet bill will be for her actual surgery.
So, a few questions for you guys:
Regardless, wish us luck too, because she's suppose to be kept inactive and with "LOW" stimulation for three weeks after surgery. Living in this house...that is almost impossible, so it's going to take another miracle for her to heal and be fine after surgery!
