You know those people...who are out chasing storms as they are coming at them head on? They wait and anticipate the storm that is approaching, and all the while, you're think they are absolutely out of their mind.
I kind of feel like my job as a mommy is that of a mini TORNADO chaser. Hear me out...
On the weekends, our house looks like it's the "WEEKEND". What does that mean? The organization and tidiness of the house goes down the drains. I'm okay with that, because sometimes we get lucky and my husband is able to be at home with us and I stop chasing the storms, so we can enjoy every minute of just being together.
But during the week...that's another story. I try the best to get my house in order on Monday and keep it pretty neat and tidy for the rest of the week. I find that sometimes this, in itself is where I become "MOMMY, THE TORNADO CHASER". I swear my kids are like mini-tornado's. I give them two minutes (literally, that's all it takes) in a room by themselves and it's like they have flipped everything upside down. It's like you can almost hear the winds whistling and the air fluttering by as they begin their PLAY. I know they aren't doing it on purpose! I know they don't even realize what they are doing, because they are just being kids and having fun...but it's truly a natural phenomenon to see the after results of their storm tearing through the house.
So, give me my license! I am officially a storm chaser. No...not one that is outside threatening the city we live in. Instead, the one that swirls around in my house so quickly that I can't find much time to sit down all day long. And if you ever see me running out of my house "ALONE" with a smile on my face, it's because I am getting a few minutes to avoid the storm...
