I miss California for many reasons, but one of the smaller (yet substantial) ones is the food available there...that I can't get in Connecticut. I'm not complaining...I think I have been able to keep my weight a lot more under control living on the East Coast, especially because...in our town specifically...there are only a few types of "DRIVE THRU" restaurants. One being McDonalds (my kids love it and I hate it) and the other being Dunkin Donuts (not a fan of their coffee either).
There's no "Roberto's" Or "Rubio's"...no "Baja Fresh" or "Dave's Tacos".
But since today is Cinco De Mayo...I will reminisce about the Carne Asada Burritos, the amazing Rubios Fish Tacos, the rolled tacos with guacamole, cheese and lettuce all over the top, etc. My mouth is seriously watering thinking of such things and the sad truth is...I cannot have them today (unless I make them myself...which just isn't the same).
(I could totally eat this whole bowl by myself with a spoon)
Do you celebrate Cinco De Mayo. If so, what foods traditionally do you eat during your "CELEBRATION"? Let me be jealous and hear the yummy delicious details.
