On DAY #4 on our STAYCATION...we decided to enjoy some LOCAL Connecticut history. So we drove to New Haven, CT (about 20 minutes from us), after picking up my husband from work for his lunch break and waited patiently in line for Louis Lunch (CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT IT) to open.
Their menu is simple and they have one rule the kids were FLOORED by...NO KETCHUP. But their Hamburgers were actually very tasty and we had a great time eating, chatting and soaking in the ambiance of Louis Lunch.
The restaurant is small, but their hamburgers are unlike anything you'll ever taste. And how many people can say they have eaten a hamburger made on the same machine, in the same restaurant that starting making them back in the very early 1900's? Pretty cool...
Then we headed out to explore a little bit of YALE UNIVERSITY's campus.
If you've never had a chance to see the campus...it is truly beautiful. The buildings are majestic and though they are doing a lot of construction right now, we enjoyed the prestige of this IVY LEAGUE College Campus.
The afternoon and evening were pretty laid back.
We spent some time outside, playing football...
riding bikes...
my niece learned to ROLLERBLADE this week while they have been at our house...
and my kids auntie got to spend some time loving on her nephews and nieces!
I am sad that tomorrow will be our last day of STAYCATION, but we have thoroughly enjoyed every second with them. Can't wait to see what's in store next year...
