Growing up, my sister & I always felt like it was Christmas when our aunt would offer to my mom a bag full of clothes from my cousin. I remember digging through the bags, checking out our new outfits and trying everything on to see what fit us then and what would fit us later on...SUCH A THRILL!
Fortunately for our family, we have had friends and family that have children in larger sized clothing than our own kids, so on occasion, we get a bag/box of clothes & shoes offered to us, either by pick up (if we live close by) or shipped to us (we pay the shipping). The funny thing about it...not only does it feel like Christmas to my girls...but I get that excited feeling back again too...
And yes, the kids wear them! In fact, people get a kick out of seeing pictures (cause you know I am always snapping them) of our kids wearing outfits that they sent us!
Having four kids, we have had to learn how to pinch pennies in areas that we can, and thankfully...so far...their clothing has been one that we are able to do that with. Kids grow out of clothing so quickly and most of the time, some of it is barely even worn.
I am thankful for those friends and family that offer this "GIFT" to us. It may seem silly, especially to those of you who refuse to put your kids in second hand or used clothes...but to us, it's one of the best gifts we can receive in the mail!
