If you're not religious, you may not want to read this post...
The significance of the sacrifice, that happened on this day...so many years ago...has me humbled completely as a reflect back on the details of what happened to MY SAVIOR!
THE GOD of creation sent His son to walk a perfect life, and then put him to the ultimate test by having him crucified for "US". TALK ABOUT AMAZING LOVE! The past several weeks, we have gone through a bible study about the last words of Christ (ones he spoke from the cross). I guess, I had never really put much thought into the meaning of each...but there is so much more there (in those simple moments) than I had ever realized. JESUS, being fully man & fully GOD, though he had pleaded with GOD to spare his life, paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we could be seen HOLY in the sight of GOD. His blood, being spilled out for our sins to be forgiven! His mother watching, as her baby boy was taken from her...
If you have never seen the movie "The Passion Of Christ" that Mel Gibson directed...I recommend you watch it. It gives us a glimpse, a taste...of what the LORD went through to pay our debt to GOD. To fulfill his destiny and give us the ability to have unity with the LORD by just accepting and believing in him and asking to be forgiven. WHAT A GIFT! WHAT A SACRIFICE!
I am truly humbled this GOOD FRIDAY, as I hope you are too! THANK YOU JESUS! I know my gratefulness does not express enough of what my heart feels for the price you paid for me on the CROSS...
